Dr. Latika Nath
LEICA SPORTS OPTICS AMBASSADOR
DR. LATIKA NATH
I am a conservation ecologist and photographer, an author, diver, hotelier and sustainability expert. I was the first women in the world and the first Indian with a Doctorate from the University of Oxford on Tiger Conservation and Management and was given the title of the “Tiger Princess” acknowledging my work on big cat conservation. For over three decades in the field, I have trusted and used Leica sports optics for animal behaviour observation and individual identification and am a global ambassador for Leica Sports Optics, the first from India.
I endeavour to raise awareness for conservation issues including climate change, ocean health and habitat protection through photography, writing and public speaking. My work has been featured in renowned documentaries and programs by National Geographic, Discovery Channel, BBC amongst others, my most recent film being the Journey of India on the Discovery Channel as a part of India’s 75 years of independence celebration.
I am on the National Tourism Advisory Committee, and am an Ambassador for the Responsible Tourism society of India. I was recently honoured among Asia's 100 Women Power Leaders and as a Woman Icon Leader for India in 2023.
